Exposición ‘Cantáridas y Aceiteras’ en Valderejo
Los parketxes de los parques naturales de Gorbeia y Valderejo acogen la exposición fotográfica ‘Cantáridas y Aceiteras’ y la muestra de ilustración científica ‘Ilustraciencia’, respectivamente. De forma rotatoria, ambas exposiciones permanecerán en las Casas del Parque, situadas en Gorbeia y Valderejo, hasta finales de diciembre.
Los visitantes de Gorbeia podrán disfrutar de las fotografías tomadas por el investigador del departamento de Biodiversidad y Biología Evolutiva del Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, Mario García. Se trata de instantáneas que retratan al detalle la infinidad de colores, formas y tamaños que presentan los escarabajos de la familia Meloidae, algunos de ellos de biología sorprendente y conocidos desde la antigüedad por poseer en su organismo una sustancia letal –denominada cantaridina- que, en pequeñas dosis, ha servido como estimulante sexual y pudo haberle ocasionado la muerte a Fernando el Católico.
En concreto, la familia Meloidae está formada por las aceiteras y las cantáridas, coleópteros de tamaño mediano o grande con altas concentraciones de cantaridina en su organismo. La Península Ibérica, alberga cerca de 70 especies de esta familia, un número muy elevado si se compara con el de otros países europeos. Además, varias de las especies de aceiteras y cantáridas que viven en nuestro entorno son endémicas y únicas, como es el caso de la aceitera coralina.
Ilustraciencia, difundir el conocimiento mediante dibujos
Por su parte, la exposición de la tercera edición del Premio Internacional de Ilustración Científica ‘Ilustraciencia’ permitirá a los visitantes de Valderejo conocer los trabajos de los mejores ilustradores, que permiten difundir y hacer llegar el conocimiento sobre la biodiversidad a todos los públicos, retratando con rigor y de forma detallada cada especie.
En esta muestra itinerante se han seleccionado 40 ilustraciones, entre las que se encuentra la obra premiada por el jurado Acrocinus longimanus male and female, de Jorge Ignacio Mesa Alvarez, o Psalidognathus friendii, de Astolfo Mata Betancourt.
Conscientes del papel trascendental jugado por la ilustración a lo largo de la historia, la iniciativa ‘Ilustraciencia’ -Premio Internacional de Ilustración Científica- que visita estos meses los parques naturales alaveses pone en valor el trabajo de los ilustradores que dedican su vida a la noble tarea de divulgar la ciencia a través de la imagen.
Fechas y ubicación
La exposición ‘Cantáridas y Aceiteras’ permanecerá en el parketxe de Gorbeia hasta el próximo 30 de septiembre y se trasladará a Valderejo desde el 1 de octubre hasta el 31 de diciembre. Por su parte ‘Ilustraciencia’ estará expuesto en Valderejo hasta finales de septiembre y se trasladará a Gorbeia hasta diciembre.
